The dual-monitor setup design here not only looks great but will really help to improve the viewing experience. This is a high-end build and it has some serious computing power behind it thanks to the Ryzen 9 3900x CPU chip. All this means that the builder gets to enjoy the 4K capabilities of the LG monitors to their fullest no matter the game.

The pink RGB lights help to tie the whole look together and give it a futuristic and clean look. Style and power combined into one.

Recommendations

This is already a pretty powerful build with some really high-end components. other than upgrading to 64GB of RAM (which isn't necessary, but is always fun), there really isn't much we'd change!

What We Like About This Setup

The clean white of the case paired with the white RGB in this build helps to make it look sleek and stylish. There are a few spacing issues with the case and components, but overall it looks like a solid build.

Having the i9 CPU in there makes this a nice powerful build that can run AAA titles with no worries. And, I won't lie, that cable management is next level!

Recommendations

In terms of aesthetics, we'd love to see the rest of the setup match the white of the PC, and a 4K monitor would help to take their gaming to new heights.

What We Like About This Setup

As a gaming PC built for a 10-year-old, we have to say we are very jealous! The RGB looks awesome, and the build is tidy enough to benefit from the tempered glass case.

Recommendations

With a desk this large, there would be no issues adding in a second monitor - especially since this is a gaming-focused build. This would give them the chance for a more immersive gaming experience.

Jase33'S "Rapture"

jase33

Specifications

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core

Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE EATX LGA1151

Case: be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev. 2 ATX Full Tower

What We Like About This Setup

While this build has definitely cost the owner a few thousand dollars, it's a powerful gaming machine because of this. The ultrawide monitor paired with LED lights will make sure you get the most immersive experience possible.

Recommendations

There was some custom cutting needed to fit the watercooling in this case, so we would recommend finding a case that better suits their design needs next time.

Case: NZXT H200 Mini ITX Tower

Monitor: Dell D2719HGF

Inputs:

Fnatic Streak Keyboard

Glorious Model O Matte Black Mouse

What We Like About This Setup

This is a great example of a mid-range PC build that can still handle some solid gaming. Opting for 16GB of RAM and two SSDs means they'll be able to play through some bigger titles, even if they need to lower the settings slightly. This build should cost around $1000, but the poster managed to get some great deals through Prime Day sales and bargain hunting, so it only came in around $600 - impressive!

Recommendations

To really make the most out of this gaming setup, we'd recommend looking at upgrading the GPU to a 2080ti like the EVGA GeForce GTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming or even an MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 2060 6GB to really get the most out of the graphical needs for more recent games.

APC 1350VA Back-UPS Pro Sinewave UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector (BR1350MS)

Cooler Master MasterAccessory MP750 XL Soft Mouse Pad

What We Like About This Setup

This is by no means a "budget" build. The OP spent over $4K creating this beast of a PC, and it really shows. This build would be more than capable of handling the best AAA titles, as well as 4K gaming and even VR. They've managed to make great use of small space and created a build that should have them supported for gaming for many years.

Recommendations

This is a pretty impressive build, and there isn't much we'd want to change. Obviously, space is a bit limited here, and that has created some obstacles for cable management. We'd love to see this setup transported to a nice big desk that can fit all the components and help to tidy up the cables around it.

Logan's Gaming Build

xloganjx

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-core

CPU Cooler: 2x Corsair H150i PRO 47.3 CRM Liquid

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GTX1080Ti 011G

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600

Storage: 2 x Samsung 970 Evo 250 GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD, Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM, and Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA T2 1000 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully-Modular ATX

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4

Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower

Monitor: VIOTEK GN32LD 31.5" 2560 x 1440 144 Hz

Inputs:

Corsair K65 LUX RGB Wired Gaming

Corsair M65 PRO RGB FPS Wired Optical

Audio:

V-MODA CROSSFADE M-100 SHADOW

Others:

2 x Corsair LL120RGB LED 43.25 CRM 120mm

Corsair Gaming Mouse Pad

Elgato Stream Deck

Corsair Fan Controller Commander Pro

2 x Corsair Lighting Node PRO CL-9011109-WW, RGB Lighting Controller

What We Like About This Setup

This one powerful build and that is definitely reflected in the cost as it comes in at well over $4k. For the majority of games out there, this is more than enough, and would even let you enjoy them in 4K with no issues. We'll assume the OP enjoys overclocking with such an abundance of cooling included - but for the average gamer, you'll be unlikely to need this much.

Recommendations

Strangely, we'd be more likely to recommend downgrading this build. The sheer amount of storage and cooling is verging on overkill for most PC builders. But, if you have the budget and the means, it's not exactly going to harm your system.

Drakophen's AMD Build

Drakophen

Specifications

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8 GB SC GAMING

RAM: 2 x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200

Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" SSD, Gigabyte Aorus RGB 512GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD, and Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM

PSU: Corsair RMx White (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX

Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER ATX AM4

Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower

Others:

2 x Corsair LL120 RGB LED 43.25 CFM 120 mm

What We Like About This Setup

This gaming build comes in a lot cheaper than some of the others on this list, but would still pack quite a punch with a lot of the big AAA titles we know and love. Having 32GB of RAM alongside a 1080 GPU means the OP will be able to get some pretty solid FPS in a lot of titles.

Recommendations

By only using exhaust fans on this build, the OP is paving the way for dust issues to crop up over time. So, we'd recommend changing the fan set up to help avoid this.

Psychedelic Jungle Loft

Motherboard: Asus Prime X299-Deluxe

Case: Thermaltake Core P3

Monitor: Acer Predator X34

Inputs:

Razer Ornata Chroma Wired Gaming Keyboard

Razer DeathAdder Elite Wired Optical Mouse

Audio:

AKG K712 PRO Headphones

What We Like About This Setup

The entire setup gives you a naturey feel with the plants all around you-- even hanging from the ceiling. The ultrawide monitor, as well as the lighting, just makes everything look and feel natural. Not to mention how the watering compliments the entire setup.

While this isn’t the first build to do it, it’s worth noting how you can use extra lighting outside of the traditional RGBs to make the build-- and room-- come to life. Here we see “spotlight” pointing up, as well as various lamps.

Overall, if you’re into gardening and plants, you might want to use this as inspiration.

Recommendations

If you’re willing to go up the extra mile to use real plants as an ornament, make sure they’re plants you can grow indoors (further reinforcing the importance of natural lighting). Or just use plastic plants if you want.

Monitor: Sony Trinitron 420GS

Inputs:

Rebadged Unicomp M122

Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical

Audio:

Boston Acoustics BA745 Computer Speaker System 2.1

What We Like About This Setup

This may look like a 1990’s computer setup but don’t let the looks fool you. Because even with the old CD spindle case beside it, inside is actually a modern processor-- a Ryzen one at that! As well as a powerful GTX 1060 graphics card that can handle AAA games at 1080p resolution. How old looks meet the modern performance is what earned its place as one of the best gaming setups in 2019.

Recommendations

Adding more RAM and getting a more powerful graphics card is going to make this a beast in sheep’s clothing.

Things You Need To Know Before Building Your Own Gaming Setup

We all have to start somewhere, and each of us has a first PC build we look back on fondly (or still use!). If you want to learn how to build your own PC, here are a few tips to help you get started.

Antistatic Wrist Strap

It’s likely that you’ve heard about these before. Antistatic wrist straps do a really good job of dissipating excess electricity (such as static) that could damage small components from your body.

Read Motherboard Manual

When building a gaming PC for the first time, one of the most daunting tasks is hooking up the right cables to the motherboard. This is where your motherboard manual becomes your best friend. If you lost the manual for whatever reason, then you should be able to easily find it online. Or even better, head over to the manufacturer’s website.

Future-Proof Your Build

It’s important that you future-proof everything when building your ultimate gaming setup. That’s to say, you should plan ahead for what components you will need to upgrade and how long each component will stay powerful enough to be relevant for your intended uses.

In particular, you might want to splurge on core components, such as the power supply and hard drive, that can be reused in different systems as you upgrade.

Hardware Checklist

It’s also worth taking note of all the important parts you’ll need:

CPU and CPU Cooler - The processor, or the heart of a computer. This processes all the tasks your computer performs and, ideally, you want to get a modern one to make a worthy investment that will last you for years.

Motherboard - This is where all of the hardware components and parts are connected. how far you can push your system’s capability will depend on the chipset and the type of motherboard. Ideally, you’d want to invest in a CPU first and then you can choose a motherboard that’s compatible

GPU or Graphics Card - The graphics card is what renders the game’s images. Ideally, you would want to get the best card for your budget to get the best graphics experience

RAM - Memory is where your most-used information is stored. The more RAM you have, the more memory is stored for fast response when data is needed

Power Supply - Never cheap out on your PSU. Ever. It’s what provides every single piece of hardware the right amount of power. Ideally, you’d want a quality PSU to safeguard your system

Case Fans - An adequate amount of case fans keep the system cool. Ideally, two intake fans and one exhaust should keep the system cool enough

Storage Devices - A combination of both types of storage devices, HDD and SSD, is what you need to get the best of both worlds: speed and storage space

Case - Choose a case that has enough room to fit all of your system’s components
